Based on the novel by Julio Cortazar, using techniques closer to poems than traditional narratives, the film is a meditation on the fragility of love; the possibility of emotional sympathy and connection; and the inevitability of isolation and separation.

Sugar Park, was a more real scene and the black&white gave it a different feel.

I preferred Hopscotch, mainly because of the music. But also, having viewed Sugar Park Tavern first, Hopscotch was almost like a sequel because of the kaleidoscope. It was introduced at the end of both movies. It added a dimension to the second film that made it more meaningful-it gave it a “history”.

Quite accidental, but it did influence my choice of the one film over the other .

The black and white is beautiful and the music and other noise in the background gives you a feel for the setting. Love it!
